Victorian Set of 4 Balloon Back Mahogany Dining Chairs. Victorian period, set off 4 mahogany balloon back dining chairs, Circa 1870. These chairs with solid mahogany frames, feature open balloon backs, over drop in upholstered seats, covered in pale sand colour patterned fabric. All raised on ring turned front legs and splayed rear legs.

This set of chairs have a few flaws but are structurally sound, free from obvious repairs, and are very sturdy and ready for use. Could be repolished and re-upholstered to make a really attractive set, but are equally charming as they are. These chairs measure approximately 85.5 cm (34) tall, 45.

Cm (18") wide, and 53.5 cm (21") deep. The seat height is approximately 45. Please see the pictures for details of the items condition. Are in a reasonable condition commensurate with their age, are structurally sound and sturdy with no loose joints. The frames have some marks, blemishes and wear.

No obvious signs of repair. They have been repolished and this polish is now worn, though it does give the chairs an appealing worn in look and pleasant patina. Pholstery is structurally reasonable, and the covers have a few light marks.

As with all vintage & antique furniture there will be signs of use, marks, wear & tear, etc. This item can be be viewed at my workshop in Stainburn, near Otley (Leeds), LS21, by appointment only.
