ERCOL PENN FRUIT WOOD CLASSIC DINING CHAIRS - Set of 6 type 1138 - FW shade. This set of 6 chairs includes standard chairs type 1138 in Fruit Wood shade - Ercol's code FW. The neutral shade seat pad fabric code from Ercol is G007 and are dated 26/07/03. The condition of all 6 of these chairs are exceptional with no visible marks dents, scratchches or defects anywhere. The frames and fabric are almost as new condition despite the fact they are probably 19 years old going by the cushion cover dates.

There are no loose joints or other defects and coming from a sun free environment the wood is not discoloured, faded or marked in anyway. They are as near new condition as you are ever likely to come across second hand.

They come from a pet and smoke free home. The seat pads are in good firm plump condition and the - oatmeal.

Removable machine washable covers are un-faded and still in excellent condition with no signs of wear or use. These have also just been removed and cleaned by us even though this was not needed. PLEASE NOTE THE LAST PHOTO SHOWS ANOTHER TYPE OF NEWLY COVERED SEAT PAD WE CAN SUPPLY - this pad is not included in this sale - it is there to show another option only.

We are currently making new covers in very expensive New Ercol 110 cream/oatmeal fabric with full details given on our set of golden dawn penn chairs. Please ask for a price if you want this option.

We will also consider supply the chairs cheaper with a worn but serviceble set of pads for you to consider re covering yourself. The photos being taken outside in bright conditions will give a true reflection of the wood and fabric shade of these Chairs. As for the seat pads - they have spent their life in a sun free dining room so there is no noticeable shade fading of the G007 fabric that is soft and woolly. CUSHION COVERS - If you require a different fabric - Ercol and lots of other much cheaper manufacturers still supply suitable complete seat pads today.

Also the removable covers are probably the simplest you can get to make up yourself - being not much more difficult to manufacture than scatter cushions. The rear zips are not required if you make up the underside of the covers in 2 half's overlapping by about 25mm with an open entry slot in the middle. And you can just transfer the Velcro straps from the original covers. These chairs are solid wood and are likely to be Ash although Ercol also used elm and Beech in their chair construction and they are still available new from Ercol today.
