Brown Herman Miller Original Eames Upholstered DSR Dining Side Shell Chair. A vintage edition of a Herman Miller Eames white shell is emboldened by its Alexander Girard designed brown polynit upholstery and sat on a newer, used DSR base. The soft fabric gives this chair an extra warm feeling which contrasts the stark metal of the DSR base perfectly creating a great example of this iconic chair. The Eames shells require little introduction with prototypes beginning in the late 1940s, production began in 1950.

Arm shells were the first to be produced and the side shells were introduced in 1952/1953. The side shell is in good vintage condition with the shell displaying no cracks or dents and the fabric only light aged marks, which are to be expected with age.

The S inside the circle stamp signifies the shell originates from Herman Millers Summit Plastics factory. The Eames shells are a great investment piece, but many factors affect how valuable they are.
