Set of 6 Antique Victorian Mahogany Balloon-Back Dining Chairs. This set of six antique Victorian balloon-back dining chairs date from the second half of the nineteenth century.

They have mahogany frames with decorative back rails, serpentine-fronted seats, and are supported on lovely shaped reeded legs at the front and swept legs at the back. They have over-upholstered seat pads with later upholstery. Condition: Overall this handsome set of chairs are in good usuable condition with some wear consistent with age and use. There is some scuffing and wear to the woodwork as might be expected and they are overall a little faded. There are some signs of old restoration and repair, and the joints (which look to have been previously repaired) have come loose on one of the chairs and would benefit from some attention. Otherwise the chairs are solid and usuable, although they do have some movement in the joints. There is some movement to the top of the back rails. The upholstery is a grubby and faded with some small stains, but has no rips or tears. Overall - 88cm high, 47 cm wide, 48cm deep (to maximums); 44.5cm high to seat. We welcome collection by man & van type courier, but please be aware that we do not accept collection by parcel courier for collection items. These are large and bulky items and not suitable for sending with parcel couriers. We are flexible regarding collection times, but do ask that you make an appointment before travelling. Please note that we are not generally open at weekends, but can sometimes be available if necessary.
