Orange Herman Miller Vintage Original Eames Upholstered DSR Dining Side Shell. This is a used red Herman Miller Eames upholstered dining chair with a shiny white fiberglass back, completed with a newer, used black DSR Effiel base. The colour is a blend between red and orange and looks fantastic on a black base, combined with its affordable price, this chair is perfect for those wanting to own an iconic Eames piece. The Eames shells require little introduction with prototypes beginning in the 1940s, production began in 1950. Arm shells were the first to be produced and the side shells were introduced in 1952/1953. The white side shell is in good condition for its age with only some light marking expected with age. The fabric does display a little more of its age, and the fabric may need some cleaning and maintenance. Further images are available upon request - especially since the pictures make the fabric more orange in colour. The Eames shells are a great investment piece, but many factors affect how valuable they are. The origin of the shell, its age and even the colour can have an effect on its value. A great combination of the upholstery and shell on this particular chair, and being a trendy and modern colour, this shell definitely will be a very good investment.
