4 Louis Philippe Gold Gilt Black Velvet Upholstered Claw & Ball Dining Chairs

  

Wimbledon-Furniture is delighted to offer for sale this very rare and really quite sublime suite of four gold gilt Louise Philippe circa 1850 French dining chairs with new black velvet upholstery and claw & ball feet. A very rare set, they have the original paper label stamps to the base which you can just about read say inventory and have the edition number on, the label is on two of the chairs. They have been reupholstered using thick silky soft black velvet, they look very smart and sophisticated. All the seat and back pads have been removed and rebuilt from the ground up so they seat like brand new chairs.

The gold gilt wood has worn and aged as you would expect, they have a fantastic patina all over, one chair has a large patch missing on one leg. My French polisher can touch up the chairs to any level should the new owner wish for the cost price. Height:- 101.5cm seat height 53.5cm.
